The Crestline–Lake Gregory Rotary Club offered pulled-pork sliders at the corner of Lake Gregory Drive and Lake Drive in Crestline the past two Saturdays. With their success, the club has decided to offer them each Saturday from around noon to 2:30 p.m. or until they run out for the next few weeks while the weather remains nice. President-elect Brent Leistra is in charge of this pop-up event.

According to unbiased tourists Ron and Fred, who were seen in Goodwin’s parking lot gobbling down the sliders, they just saw the Rotary sign and stopped and bought the sliders. “These sliders are delicious, I wish they had more. These are the best tasting sliders I have ever tasted,” said Fred.

“The price for the sliders is $3 for one, two for $5 and three for $7,” said Rotarian Stan Gabriel. “We are offering these tasty, delicious sandwiches to raise funds so we can support the community food distributions through Kvell. We offer them both financial support, the easy-ups and volunteers to pass out the food boxes. Selling these sliders enables us to support that and other community needs.”

The Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club does much to help the local community while also contributing to the eradication of polio worldwide. The club will be receiving an update on this worldwide Rotary project at the Oct. 22 Zoom meeting.

The club is locally very involved in the Early Act Club for grades 4, 5 and 6 at Valley of Enchantment Elementary School.

The Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club has built the covered bus stops for students along the roads, put in the original exercise stations along the Lake Gregory trail and the original tennis courts and basketball courts.

Anyone interested in Rotary can visit the club’s website at www.CrestlineRotary.com or contact them at Rotary Club of Crestline-Lake Gregory, PO Box 1001, Crestline, CA 92325.
