What’s our yodeler’s name?

May 27, 2021 | Crestline

Cartoon man with a blank name tag.

Shortly after restored yodeler wooden sculptures began appearing around Crestline in January, The Alpine Mountaineer newspaper had a visitor come knocking on our door. To our delight, it was another yodeler sporting a bushy grey moustache and an alpine cap.

What our yodeler visitor said was he wanted to be the official greeter in our newspaper, welcoming all with a smile and tip of his cap.

You’ve seen him mostly on our front page now and then, and he’ll be helping us out with other projects as well.
But when we asked what his name was, he simply smiled and, with a twinkle in his eye, said he didn’t want to tell us! He said one of you out there knew his first name and we should ask you. So that’s what we’re going to do.

We’re having a contest of sorts!

If you can tell us what the yodeler’s first name is, we will thank you by giving you either a one year’s subscription to The Alpine Mountaineer or, if you are currently a paid subscriber, we’ll extend your subscription by a year. One entry per person, please.

Our editorial board will consider all suggested names, and our board will select the name we believe is our yodeler’s first name.

We will keep the contest open through our June 17 edition and announce his name and the name of our winner in our July 1st edition.

Email entries to info@thealpinemountaineer.com. Include the yodeler’s name, your name, and a phone number or email address.
