‘A cheerful heart has a continued feast’

The Mountain Christian Women’s fellowship invites all women on the mountain to attend their February tea on Friday, Feb. 3 rom 1 to 3 p.m.
This interdenominational group of Christian women is dedicated to sharing God’s message of love, hope and forgiveness. They have met for more than 48 years at a variety of locations.
At the February tea, Rocky Petty will share how tragedy in her life brought her to God and shaped the person she is today. In her talk titled “A cheerful heart has a continued feast,” Petty will reflect on the trauma she experienced as a child through the loss of her brothers and later, as a mother, the kidnapping of her daughter.
Petty’s testimony will bring hope to those who have suffered loss in different ways.
She has been a Bible study leader at Harvest and is currently on the Women’s Guild for Southern California’s Teen Challenge.
Music at the February tea will be provided by Teri Bennett, who leads worship at the Lake Gregory Community Church and worship for the Community Bible Study. She was a featured soloist in the One Voice gospel choir and the living Christmas tree productions.
The tea will be held at Church of the Woods, 1410 Calgary Drive in Lake Arrowhead.
To make a reservation ($10 payable at the door), call or text Kim Johnson at (909) 362-7554. Childcare is available for $1 per child.
Ladies should bring their own special teacups.
For those who cannot attend, the tea will be livestreamed on three platforms: www.facebook.com/MountainChristianFellowship, www.facebook.com/ChurchoftheWoods and www.churchofthewoods.org.
