The Heisler Theater is holding auditions for their new production of Sherlock Holmes and the Star of Arabia on Jan. 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Tudor House in Arrowhead Villas.

One of the major roles they are seeking is that of the leading lady, who can pull off a good Russian accent. They always can use new faces, but it is assumed many folks from previous Heisler productions may also come to audition.

At open auditions they always hope to find someone new, who turns out to be excellent and the theater troop enjoys working with and wants to act with for many more shows. All are welcome to come and audition.

In addition, the Heisler Theater Company can always use help backstage. They want to encourage those who enjoy being backstage, finding and maintaining costumes, doing makeup, lighting, sound, stage crew, etc. – those who actually make the magic happen – to come to the auditions to get involved with the theater company. They have excellent equipment to work with, including backlighted sets and good lights.

Richard Lavin, who wrote this play, will be directing. The rehearsals will be Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Tudor House. The show will be from April 26 to 28 and May 3 to 5.

Those who saw A Christmas Carol at the Tudor House last month are aware of the high quality of the Heisler Theater’s productions. The Tudor House is located at 800 Arrowhead Villa Road.

The Heisler Theater Company also intends to be involved this spring with a Broadway Review on May 24 through 26. Their Suspense Theater radio shows, “On a Country Road” and “That Thing in the Window,” will be presented Feb. 23 through 25 at the Tudor house.
