Rim of the World Recreation District map

A vacancy on the board of directors of the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District for Division 2 occurred on Jan. 31, 2024. Per Government Code §1780 this vacancy must be filled by appointment on or before March 31, 2024.

Requirements for this position are that the appointee must be a qualified State of California voter in the district, residing and owning property in Trustee Area/Division 2 within the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District boundaries. Board meetings are held monthly, generally on the fourth Monday of each month. Board members are also assigned to sit on a committee.

The Rim of the World Recreation and Park District is an independent California special district made by public vote in 1985. Board members are directors of a local government agency and have the authority to make advisory and/or final decisions relative to policy or the provision of municipal services.

To apply, the candidate’s statement of qualifications (available at rim-rec.org/vacancy), which shall include personal background information and reasons for seeking the vacant position, must be filed at the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District office (26577 State Highway 18, Rimforest) by 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2024. Interviews will be conducted at the February board meeting on Feb. 26, 2024. The meeting will be held at the district office and will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The appointment will be made by the board of directors at the March 25, 2024, board meeting.
