Easter is coming up soon and many community egg hunts are occurring over the next couple of weekends. Beginning this weekend, on Saturday, March 23, the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District is hosting “The Golden Egg Search” at Harich baseball field located above the new mural at Twin Peaks Rotary Centennial Park, located at 675 Grandview Drive in Twin Peaks.

This Saturday, not only will there be colorful candy-filled plastic blue, pink, purple and green eggs, but there will be special golden eggs that contain park district prizes, as well. After those eggs are found they may be turned in at the end of the egg hunt for special additional prizes from the park district for those lucky kids.

They recommend that each child bring an Easter basket or pail to collect the eggs. Each age group has a separate search time. The first hunt will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m., exclusively for 1- to 3-year-olds. From 11:30 a.m. until noon is for 4- to-6-year-olds. Those aged 7 to 9 will search from noon to 12:30 p.m. Then all ages from 1 to 12 will search together from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in friendly, family style.

Although not an egg hunt, the Easter Bunny will be at the Mountain History Museum, giving an Easter Egg to those who visit him and have a selfie taken on either Saturday or Sunday, March 23 and 24. There will be free crafts, as well as popcorn and cookies from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the museum, which is located at 27176 Peninsula Drive in Lake Arrowhead.

On Thursday, March 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Rim Family Services Recovery Center at 28545 Highway 18 in Skyforest is hosting a free egg hunt in their yard. The Easter Bunny will visit for photos and there will be snacks and a fun egg hunt. This event requires an advance RSVP to Jacqueline Quiros at jquiros@rimfamilyservices.org.

The Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Easter egg hunt starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. Refreshments will be served. The hunt will take place at 2645 Whispering Pines Drive, in the field behind Firehouse Park.

Then, on Saturday, March 30, is the Crestline egg hunt in the morning, sponsored by the Crestline Chamber of Commerce, with its Duck Derby at 1 in the afternoon. Both events are occurring on the south shore of Lake Gregory, with free parking. There are three different free hunts for different age groups. The first egg hunt will begin at 10:30 a.m. for those 9 to 12 years of age and 45 minutes later at 11:15 a.m. the hunt will start for those 6 to 8. The last egg hunt is at noon for those 5 and under.

On Easter Sunday, March 31, in Crestline there will be an Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. on the north shore terrace of Lake Gregory, sponsored by several of Crestline’s area churches. All are welcome. In the Lake Arrowhead area, the mountain community’s Easter sunrise service will take place at 6:15 a.m. on the beach at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa.

Easter morning many local churches are having egg hunts in conjunction with their Easter Sunday morning services.
