Cleaning up the creek

Visitors to Lake Gregory around San Moritz Lodge may have spotted heavy equipment in the creek last week. Bear Valley Paving contracted with the Lake Gregory Company to remove at least 700 cubic yards of sand and silt from the creek and inlet area.  When we spoke to them, they were on track to complete the job with about 1200 cubic yards removed.  “This is necessary every few years, especially when there has been a lot of storm activity, particularly when there is rain immediately following snow,” said JP Montero of Bear Valley Paving.
