Matching people with volunteer opportunities

Apr 10, 2024 | Communities, Crestline

Hands raised for volunteering opportunities.

The Association of Mountain Volunteer Organizations (AMVO) invites everyone interested in becoming more involved in their community to participate in a volunteer recruiting day to be held Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Moritz Lodge.

The coordinator for the program, Stan Howe, is a member of several volunteer groups and believes there are many mountain residents who desire to give back to their community through volunteering but who may not know what opportunities are available.

Many organizations will be represented in one location to provide potential volunteers the information about what volunteer opportunities are available.

Organizations participating include Mountain CERT, RimVets Veteran Outreach, Mountain Meals On Wheels, Fire Lookouts, Mountain Homeless Coalition, Mountains Community Hospital Auxiliary, Sheriff Citizens On Patrol, Highway Patrol Senior Volunteers, Mountain Skies Astronomical Society, Sierra Club, Crestline Lions Club, Arrowhead Arts Association, three Rotary clubs and many others.

The donation of the use of the San Moritz Lodge by Lake Gregory Company is deeply appreciated.

Contact Stan Howe at AMVO2021@outlook.com for more information about the event.

The San Moritz Lodge is located at 24640 San Moritz Drive in Crestline.
