“Can you imagine your life with no music in it?”

That was the question from Jeannie Venturini, the president of the Arrowhead Arts Association at the Auxiliary’s membership brunch.

“Children need to love, appreciate and create music,” she told the guests assembled at the Lake Arrowhead Country Club.

Erin and Sara Zhou charmed the Auxiliary members with their music at the brunch.

Two young people who have done all three – Erin and Sara Zhou – shared their talent at the brunch.

Erin, 12, accompanied Sara, 8, on the violin as Sara sang “Edelweiss.” Then Erin played two pieces: “Violin Concerto in A minor” by Accolay and “Adoration” by Felix Borowski.

Barbara Carbajal, the Auxiliary president, asked her officers to stand and be recognized.

Due to the members’ volunteer work at the thrift store in Blue Jay, Laura Donohoo reported, the Auxiliary raised $35,000 in 2023.

Marla Marganian announced two upcoming fundraisers: a garden tour on June 29 that will feature four gardens with music at each and the annual gala, which will take place on Aug. 4 and honor Lorna Polley.
