The Line Fire has caused many events on the mountain to either be canceled or postponed. Here’s a list of those we are aware of as of Monday, Sept. 16:
• Rim of the World Unified School District schools will remain closed at least through Sept. 20.
• Oktoberfest in Lake Arrowhead Village was canceled on Sept. 14 and 15.
• The AAA Fall Festival concert set for Sept. 15 was postponed; no new date has been announced yet.
• The Water Lantern Festival at Lake Gregory, which was to have taken place on Sept. 13 and 14, was postponed until spring.
• The date for Bibs & Bids – the Lobsters at the Lake and auction Rotary event – has been changed from Sept. 22 to Oct. 26. Visit www.crestlinerotary.com for tickets; tickets that were already purchased will be honored on the new date.
• The Rim Family Services gala, scheduled for Sept. 28, has been postponed; new date to be announced.
• Sunday Funday at Lake Gregory on Sept. 15 was canceled.
• The Celebrity and History tour on the Arrowhead Queen was canceled, as was the tunnel tour. The Mountain History Museum was closed on the weekend of Sept. 13 to 15.
• Because the San Bernardino National Forest is closed through Nov. 30, the Pine Cone Festival has been canceled.
• Because SkyPark was closed, there was no Tunes in the Trees concert on Sept. 13.
• The farmers market in Running Springs did not take place on Sept. 14.
• Two events scheduled at Heaps Peak Arboretum on Sept. 14 were canceled: guided nature walk and a children’s nature-focused craft and activity.
• And the events scheduled at Heaps Peak Arboretum on Sept. 21 were also canceled: introduction to composting and a children’s nature-focused craft and activity.
• The open mic night scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church has been postponed; no new date has been set yet.
• The grand opening of Grocery Outlet in Blue Jay, set for Sept. 19, has been postponed; no new date has been set yet.
• VOE Elementary School’s Movie Night scheduled for Sept. 20 will be postponed; future date to be announced.
