CHP to host open house and car show – Running Spring Fire will also welcome visitors

On Saturday, Oct. 19, both the California Highway Patrol and the Running Springs Fire Department will welcome visitors to their open houses, which will be filled with demonstrations and family fun.

At the CHP Arrowhead Area office, located at 31230 Highway 18 in Running Springs, there will be a K-9 presentation, food and drinks and giveaways. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes as there will be a Trunk or Treat.

Highlighting the CHP open house will be their annual car show. Attendees can vote for the car they consider to be the best in show. Those interested in entering their cars should submit the registration form (see photo) by Oct. 11. Contact Officer Julien at (909) 867-2791 or by email at devin.rohman@chp.ca.gov with questions.

Next door at the Running Springs Fire Department, there will be emergency equipment displays and exciting demonstrations. Other agencies participating will include the San Bernardino County Sheriff, Arrowbear Lake Fire Department, the U.S. Forest Service, the Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council, Cal Fire and Rim Family Services.

The Running Springs Fire Department reminds residents that “Fire won’t wait – Plan your escape.”

Both open houses will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
