Last Saturday’s annual Fall Festival in Crestline’s historic Top Town shopping district attracted hundreds of guests in a partygoing mood. Vendors galore lined both sides of Crest Forest Drive, offering everything from beer and wine to nachos, cookies, cakes, pastries and hamburgers and hot dogs. Children had their faces painted and got to play on a host of carnival bounce houses, swing a sledgehammer to propel a wedge upward to ring a bell, and make colorful drawings on the street pavement with chalk provided by local merchant My Favorite Things. And, of course, “Mr. Twister” was there, inflating and twisting balloons into odd-shaped hats. Meanwhile, entertainment was provided by local band Whisky Sunday.
