On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Forever Kids Foundation, a dedicated nonprofit organization, had a heartwarming event aimed at supporting foster children in the community that was hosted by Pepe Cervantes and Sonia Ceja of Subaru San Bernardino.

With a mission to provide resources and assistance to over 40,000 foster children, Forever Kids founders Tony and Kathy Salerno invited three local foster homes to join in a special celebration: Alba Care Services, Humble Homes and Children’s Plus Foster Family Agency.
The event, themed “From Bags to Suitcases: Building Character and Value,” emphasized the importance of empowerment and self-worth for these young individuals. Each foster home was recognized for their commitment and care, and the children received personalized suitcases filled with essential items. These suitcases contained thoughtful gifts such as resourceful books and other items designed to uplift and inspire.
As the day unfolded, the atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie, as foster children and their caregivers shared stories and a sense of community. The Forever Kids Foundation’s initiative not only aimed to provide practical resources but also sought to instill a sense of pride and belonging.
This event served as a reminder of the resilience of these young lives and the importance of supporting one another. By transitioning from trash bags to suitcases, Forever Kids reinforced the idea that every child deserves to carry their hopes and dreams with dignity and confidence.
Subaru of San Bernardino donated 100 of these suitcases and continues to be a light with their giving and awareness. This is a part of the Subaru Love Promise® campaign: “The vision to show love and respect to all people at every interaction…we believe in being a positive force in the communities in which we live and work, not just with donations, but with actions that set an example for others to follow.”
