Three new no-parking zones along Lake Drive were approved by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Nov. 19, partly because some of the food trucks that have been coming up to Crestline have been blocking Mountain Transit buses from dropping off and picking up passengers.
The “No Stopping, Standing, or Parking/Tow-Away Zones” include:
• On the south side of Lake Drive from 205 feet west of the Lake Gregory Drive curb return easterly for 65 feet in the Crestline area
• On the north side of Lake Drive from 215 feet west of the Lake Gregory Place curb return easterly for 52 feet in the Crestline area
• On north side of Lake Drive from 90 feet east of Wildrose Lane easterly for 75 feet in the Crestline area.
The county cited conditions affecting the Mountain Area Regional Transit Authority (Mountain Transit) bus stops located on Lake Drive in the Crestline area as the reason for the new no parking/tow-away zones.
A spokesperson for Mountain Transit said the agency had to approach the county because access to bus stops along Lake Drive in those three areas, especially the bus stop next to Goodwin’s Market, was becoming a problem for bus drivers to park near the curb and load and off-load passengers.
