The Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club will hold its 23rd annual Mountain Communities Recognition Awards banquet on Thursday, May 15 at Thousand Pines Camp in Crestline.

Invitations have gone out to agencies and organizations on the mountain, asking them to honor one of their own who deserves special acknowledgement for their contributions and achievements.

The Rotary Club is also seeking nominations for a Mountain Hero – an individual in the mountain communities who is not affiliated with a particular organization but who gives unselfishly of their time to help others. They do not ask for or seek recognition but make a different in our communities.

In naming their honoree, agencies and organization are asked to complete a questionnaire with information on where the person was born, where they grew up and when they came to the mountain, their accomplishments, challenges they had had to overcome, how they have helped others in the community and what they have done for that agency or organization.

This information plus a photo of the honoree will be included in the banquet program.

For more information or to receive an invitation and honoree questionnaire, send an email to crestlinelgrotary@gmail.com. Individuals may also nominate a Mountain Hero by sending that person’s name to this same email address.

The deadline for submission of honorees’ names is May 1.
