Editor’s note: As the sheriff’s department is no longer providing their log of calls, the Alpine Mountaineer is compiling Nixle press releases for our readers.   Lake Arrowhead man arrested for attempted murder of family member On Thursday, Sept. 4, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks station, responded to the 100 block of Maple Drive, in the community of Lake Arrowhead. The victim, an adult female, called 911 after being attacked by a family member, Nathan Shepard, 36. Shepard attacked and assaulted the victim with a metal fireplace aerator poker across her upper body and head. After deputies arrived at the location, they discovered Shepard had left the location prior to deputies’ arrival. The location was cleared and secured, and deputies and fire personnel treated the victim’s injuries and transported her to a local hospital for additional medical treatment, where she was diagnosed with life threatening injuries. An arrest warrant for Nathan Shepard was authored and signed by a San Bernardino County Superior Court Judicial Official. On Sunday, Sept. 7, Shepard was contacted by the Chino Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident, transported to and booked into West Valley Detention Center under the charge of California Penal Code 664/187(a): Attempted Murder.
