Rim of the World High School’s theatre department lit up the stage with a lively performance and an evening full of laughter, creativity and imaginative student talent. The student production featured a variety of standout moments showcasing immense dedication, playful character work and creative stage design.
Families, friends and community members sat excited to support the Rim High Theatre production Crowns & Chaos, which was composed of two one-acts related in theme: “Princess Party Smackdown” and “Cinderella: The Fairy Godmother’s Tale.”

Evidence of the students’ guerilla publicity.
The Fairy Godmother’s Tale was a playful starter to the chaotic Act Two that followed. In “Princess Party Smackdown,” what began as a seemingly innocent children’s birthday party quickly spiraled into a world where fairies opted for human sacrifice and alien creatures invaded in the name of student loan debt. The performance was a whirlwind of princess costumes, sharp dialogue and infectious energy that left the audience laughing.
Beyond the humor, the production featured strong individual performances that revealed genuine depth. Supporting cast members played their roles with precision, contributing to a cohesive and well-paced narrative.
Behind the scenes, the technical crew deserves equal recognition. Smooth transitions, expressive lighting and practical effects made both performances equally entertaining, while the costume team added personality and flair to each character, no matter how out-of-this-world they were.
As the final applause echoed through the auditorium, it was obvious that Rim High’s theatre students had accomplished something special. In a tight-knit mountain community, events like this strengthen connections, celebrate student creativity, and remind the audience of the value of arts education.
