The Mountain History Museum will be open this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 20 and 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Dec. 21 they will hold their annual end of the year open house.

Santa Claus will be visiting the museum from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Parents are invited to being their cell phones and cameras to capture that magic Santa encounter moment. This “jolly ole soul” is looking forward to seeing the children (and adults) who visit.

Also, in the museum is a display on the history of Santa’s Village, which operated in Skyforest from 1955 through 1998. On display are some elf shoes, photos from those historic days and some of the trinkets sold in their gift shops.

They have an original Santa chair in which Santa will be sitting to greet his little visitors this weekend.

While visiting the museum, check out the gift shop where you will find geodes, wooden puzzles, jewelry, photos, books and stuffed animals. Items are 10 percent off.

The Mountain History Museum at 27176 Peninsula Drive in Lake Arrowhead; entrance to the museum and parking are free.  This is the last weekend the museum will be open until next year.
