Theft suspect apprehended — Stolen property recovered
On Monday, Dec. 22, at 3:17 p.m., deputies from the Highland Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a theft from a local business. A male subject entered the business, removed a computer valued at approximately $2,600, placed it in a shopping cart and ran out of the store without paying. The suspect loaded the stolen merchandise into a gold Nissan Altima and left the scene.
Through investigative efforts, deputies identified and located the suspect’s vehicle in the city of Colton. Deputies from the Central Sheriff’s Station assisted with the investigation.
Deputies contacted the suspect, later identified as Ronald Carr, 35, a resident of Colton, at his apartment. Carr was found to be on felony probation for vandalism. A search warrant was obtained for the residence, where deputies successfully recovered the stolen property.
Carr was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 487(a)- Grand Theft. When he was taken into custody, he resisted arrest which led to an additional charge of PC 69(a)- Obstruct/Resist Executive Officer with bail set at $30,000.
