Well, it’s wintertime again and I barely got finished putting away all the Christmas tree ornaments on the tree when Albert (my cat) got rambunctious and wanted to play with them. Oh, and then he wanted a fancy dinner so, of course, I gave him a fancy feast. Then, Albert’s girlfriend, Zelda, showed up and she wants to go bowling. Well, of course she does, afterall, she’s an allycat…Ha, ha, made you laugh, and it made Albert laugh, too. Anyhow, everything is purrfect now.
OK, that’s enough silliness for now, but seriously (Yeah, right, when am I ever serious) January and February were brutal, what with all of the rain, snow, downed trees into homes and businesses, not to mention all of the power outages from trees landing across powerlines. Now, when is Edison ever gonna learn to put their dang powerlines underground like cities and towns throughout the southland? I mean, it’s a no-brainer…no duh!
Well, I love a rainy night, it’s such a beautiful sight. I love to feel the rain on my face, taste the rain on my lips in the moonlight shadows. Showers wash all of my cares away, I wake up to a sunny day ‘cause I love a rainy night. (“I Love a Rainy Night” – Eddie Rabbitt – 1980)
Well, we still have a berm in front of our driveway, here at the stately Motley Manor, but I must say the county’s transportation department has done a bang-up job of keeping our roads plowed and cleared – same for Caltrans on the state highways. Did you see all of the snow players last weekend all along Highway 18? They were in every turnout, whether plowed or not, and many were occupying picnic tables, doing what one does at a picnic table, having a picnic…no duh! and others were picnicking inside of easy ups…. Ahh, the good life.
I love a rainy night, it’s such a beautiful sight.
Well, that’s enough ranting for this week. I’ll be back next week, same time, same channel.
Keep it flyin’,
Uncle Mott
