A relocation Grand Opening celebration of Crestline Comics was held last Saturday, April 18.

They moved onto Lake Drive, and attracted over 100 residents and visitors. Crestline Comics has been in business for several years, and when given the opportunity to relocate into a larger location they jumped at the opportunity.

Crestline Comics has been located on Forest Shade Road in the back of the medical complex, where they had two buildings, one for gaming and the other for the comics themselves. They had outgrown their previous shop, having greatly expanded their inventory of comics. So with this move, they have more room, more shelves and more rooms. They hope this new location will not only attract more customers from down the hill, but allow them to offer more gaming and activities in “The Keep,” their former store location, which they are ‘keeping.’

At the grand opening, which was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, they offered Snow Pebbles Shaved Ice, Buddy’s BBQ, a cosplay contest and Pokémon League sign-ups for the huge event they held on Sunday. There was a Magic the Gathering event table, and a D&D Launch table for a new campaign.

The store has a vast selection of comic books and other graphic novels and books. They also have Pokemon cards and figurines of superheroes and characters. The new store shows its merchandise off well; there is a strong visual impact on the brain when walking through the door, with all the colors and shelves of items.

Crestline Comics has a Pokemon-sanctioned league that meets every Sunday at 2 p.m. hosted by Certified Pokemon professors. They invite trainers of all ages and experience levels to attend. They have trading card games and video game certified leagues. They invite anyone to come and learn to play, trade or battle. They even have rental decks available for those visiting the area who didn’t bring their cards. Plus, they have sealed product for purchase. If you play the tournaments, there are prizes to win. The store is launching their new game room called The Keep in their old comic shop location for community play as well. Every Tuesday and Friday Night at The Keep, at 500 Forest Shade Road in Unit #10 Crestline, will be a Magic the Gathering Commander Night at 5:30 p.m. Entry fee is $5 or $10 in product purchases. Parking in the lot should be adequate.

The new location of Crestline Comics is at 23753 Lake Drive, where it shares a parking lot with Encompass Antiques. It is across Lake Drive from Higher Grounds Coffee Company in Crestline at the intersection with Manzanita and Springy Path.

The store is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 to 6 p.m.
