The Phantom invites you to his masquerade ball on May 16.

The Phantom is hosting a masquerade ball at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. He invites you to join him for an evening of live music, an opera house banquet and lots of treasures – all in an effort to raise money to support students in the Rim of the World Unified School District.

The Phantom’s Masquerade Ball – the Rim of the World Educational Foundation’s annual gala – will take place on Saturday, May 16.

The evening will begin at 4:00 p.m. with appetizers in the ballroom foyer. While you enjoy a light bite and perhaps a libation, prepare to be amazed by the magic of Greg Van Holsbeck. He has been fascinated by magic since discovering a magic kit when he was just 10 years old. He has made a career out of that fascination, performing on cruise ships and at The Magic Castle.

The doors will then open to the ballroom where guests will enjoy a buffet of strawberry pecan salad, chicken cordon bleu, dill-crusted salmon, cheese tortellini with cream pesto, garlic truffle mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and red velvet cupcakes.

The Rim Ed Foundation supports three programs in the Rim school district: the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, CTE (Career Technical Education) classes and School Partnership Awards.

Students, teachers and administrators will share their experiences with these programs and the impact they have had at the ball. Prepare to be amazed!

Guests are invited to don their finest attire. Don’t forget your masks – there will be a masterpiece mask contest with the winners unveiled.

The evening will also include a silent auction featuring, among other treasures, engravable wine glasses, tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific, a private wine class, Corks & Hops tickets, tickets to the Huntington Library and to the Midway Museum, tickets to the Nutcracker as presented by the Lake Arrowhead School of Dance and a variety of restaurant gift certificates.

Music – including songs from Phantom of the Opera – will be presented by Destiny Love.
