On Saturday, Sept. 12, the mountain will become a game board.
Mountain Provisions Cooperative will host Mountain Quest, a road rally scavenger hunt that sends teams of neighbors, families and friends across the San Bernardino Mountains in search of clues, challenges, photo missions and a fair amount of ridiculousness. The event begins at Lake Arrowhead Pizza & Arcade and ends wherever the points take you.
Teams of two to six people will compete for prizes and mountain-wide bragging rights, working their way through a course built around local businesses, natural landmarks and community gathering spots. Tickets are $25 per person; each participant must purchase an individual ticket. Once ticketed, participants form their crew and choose a team captain.
The day will include awards and a raffle featuring prizes donated by local mountain businesses, including Sunsets Island Bar & Grill, Puglia, Antlers, Cardinale Salon, Ivy Wellness, Tiki Bar, The Malt Shop, Four Seasons, Evergreen Curated Goods – and more surprises to be revealed.
All ages are welcome to join a team. Each team must include at least one member who can drive. Prizes will also be awarded for best team theme.
Mountain Quest is a fundraiser for Mountain Provisions Cooperative, the community-owned food cooperative that grew out of the mutual aid effort following Snowmageddon, the devastating 2023 blizzard that left mountain communities cut off and made food access critical. Proceeds support the cooperative’s work to bring good, honest food to the mountain, generate local economic impact and fund community initiatives, including the Friends of Lauri LGBTQ+ Community Impact Grant Program.
