Do you dare take the Haunted Trail?

Oct 20, 2026 | Mountain Events

This witch invited folks onto the trail last year.

The Sequoia Trail at Heaps Peak Arboretum becomes haunted at this time of year – but not too scary.
The haunted Halloween hike will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Witches, ghosts and skeletons help with the transformation.
A graveyard will spring up at a bend in the trail. Skeletons may be spotted fishing in Joe’s Creek.
Of the hundreds of hikers who ventured onto the Haunted Trail last year, every single one made it out alive. Best of all, the survivors were offered Halloween treats and a photo opportunity at the end of their ordeal.
In addition, there will be an opportunity for children to make a Halloween craft and there will be more live character interactions along the trail this year.
Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Costumes are encouraged.
