Maureen Stratton
First Fridays at The Lake House are a celebration of friendship and fine art. Join this month’s featured artists – Dave Wescott and Maureen Stratton – on Nov. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.
While visiting with the artists and admiring their work, guests can enjoy some beverages and hors d’oeuvres.
After completing his formal education in art and art education, Dave Wescott changed the direction of the art he created as a result of a visit to Santa Fe. Studying with Albert Handell, a nationally recognized pastel artist, Wescott began adding watercolor to this challenging medium. A lifelong love of travel provided an endless array of subject matter. His landscapes reflect the light of the Southwest, the hills of Tuscany and the woods and meadows of Lake Arrowhead and New England.
Maureen Stratton began her painting career about 10 years ago after retiring from a career in medical management. She participated in a number of workshops with noted artists and, along the way, won several awards for her work. She currently works in oils in both plein air and in her studio in Palm Springs, concentrating on landscapes and nature.
Ten percent of all sales during the First Friday event will be donated this month to the Mountains Community Hospital Foundation.
The Lake House is located at 28966 Hook Creek Road in Cedar Glen. For more information, call (909) 337-7676 or visit www.lakehousecollection.com.
