Tutors sought for English language learners

Lake Arrowhead Branch Library exterior with cars parked.

The Lake Arrowhead branch library is currently seeking learners and tutors for their adult literacy program.

This free program provides adults the opportunity to improve their reading and writing of the English language on their own schedule and at their own pace.

Tutors assist adult learners with learning basic reading and writing skills. They set their own availability and are matched up with a learner who matches their schedule. The base requirements are that they are 18 or older and have a strong understanding of the English language.

Learners are paired with a tutor who matches their needs. They are provided with learning materials like workbooks, flash cards and engaging books written at a level that can be easily understood. All meetings take place in the Lake Arrowhead branch library.

If you are interested in becoming a learner or a tutor, or if you know anyone interested, please call the Lake Arrowhead branch library, located at 27235 Highway 189 in Blue Jay, at (909) 337-3118.

For more information on the San Bernardino County library system, visit www.sbclib.org or call 9909) 387-2220.
