How to prevent cardiovascular disease

The fourth Health and Wellness presentation – Hearts & Smarts – by Soroptimist International of Rim of the World will feature family nurse practitioner Kim Walker.

Walker will draw from her extensive experience as a registered nurse in critical care, emergency and peri-operative services. She will address how to identify and prevent cardiovascular disease and strokes as well as the treatment of issues of the heart and strokes in women and men.

Walker brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this presentation. Graduating from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1985, she embarked on a fulfilling career in healthcare. She continued her education, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 1999 and later specializing with a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from United States University in 2023.

Soroptimist International of Rim of the World, with a grant from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, is hosting this presentation on Saturday, June 8 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church at 28708 Highway 18 in Skyforest.  Refreshments will be served.
