On Thursday, Aug. 29, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, investigated allegations of possession and distribution of inappropriate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) via the Internet. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) forwards cyber tips to local law enforcement agencies who investigate the allegations.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the home of Gilberto Vega, 27, in the 700 block of South Old Toll Road in Blue Jay.
Vega was the subject of multiple cyber tips forwarded to Twin Peaks Station for investigation. As a result of the investigation, Vega was arrested for violation of Penal Code section 311.11, possession of Internet child pornography. Vega was transported and booked at the Central Detention Center.
This investigation was forwarded to the Office of the District Attorney for review and filing.
The investigation revealed Vega was actively interacting with underage females online, leading investigators to believe there may be additional victims. Vegas’s Instagram handle was OTGVPMW.
