Motorcyclist killed in collision on State Route 18 in Lake Arrowhead

On September 23, 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol a fatal crash happened Monday along State Route 18 near State Route 173 in Lake Arrowhead.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 18 at 5:43 a.m. on Sept. 23rd, just west of Crest Park Road, according to the CHP report.

CHP officials reported that a black GMC Sierra and a motorcyclist were involved, but it’s unknown what led up to the accident. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department responded after paramedics confirmed the motorcyclist’s death on the scene. 

As of press time, police are still working to determine liability and what caused the collision. 

Police initially closed down northbound State Route 18 at Rim of the World Drive and southbound lanes at Highway 173. As of press time, Caltrans reports that Route 18 is now clear.
