Winter prep work to begin on SR-18

Caltrans has announced the Burnt Mill maintenance crews have begun preparing State Route 18 for winter.

The winter preparation maintenance operation began on Wednesday, Oct. 30 with a break on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Work will continue from Monday, Nov. 4 to Thursday, Nov. 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This maintenance operation will require a closure of the southbound #2 lane. Crews will focus on clearing drainage and slope cleanups from the junction of SR-18 and SR-138 to Old Waterman Canyon.

This preventative maintenance is intended to make the route safer during the upcoming winter season.
