On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, members of the Rim of the World Educational Foundation board welcomed guests to the Lakefront Tap Room where they enjoyed some appetizers and beverages. At the same time, they donated funds to Rim Ed as part of the national day of giving.

Those funds will help support the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program at both Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School and Rim of the World High School, the CTE (Career Technical Education) classes at Rim High and the Partnership with Schools awards, which are given to all of the Rim campuses.

John Hackney, owner of the Lakefront Tap Room, once again welcomed the Rim Ed board members and their guests to his restaurant. Not only did he welcome them – allowing them to set up a donation table – he donated $800 from that night’s proceeds to Rim Ed and comped the appetizers served to their guests.

At press time, Rim Ed had raised $9,000 as a result of the Giving Tuesday donations.
