Repeat offender arrested in possession of suspected methamphetamine

On Monday, March 10, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Deputy Christian Ayala conducted a pedestrian check on a white male adult, identified as Johnny Lee Marts, 40, of Crestline, in the area of Lake Drive and Rose Hill Drive. During the contact, Deputy Ayala located a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine in Marts’ possession.

A records check revealed Marts had several prior arrests for possession of dangerous drugs and more than two prior convictions for possession of dangerous drugs. Due to the recent enactment of Proposition 36, Deputy Ayala arrested Marts for H&S 11395 (possession of a controlled substance with two prior convictions) and transported him to the Central Detention Center, where he was booked for felony possession of a controlled substance with two prior convictions.

Traffic stop leads to arrest of three Crestline residents on drug charges

On Sunday, March 9, at approximately 10:02 a.m., Deputy William Cowles conducted a traffic stop at Balsam Lane and Sycamore Lane in Valley of Enchantment on a Jeep Wrangler with expired registration.

The vehicle was occupied by the driver, Cassandra Oberdick – 40 of Crestline – and several passengers, including Joel Rose and Cinthia Johnson – both 33 and residents of Crestline.

Deputy Cowles conducted a records check on all occupants and found Johnson had an active warrant for her arrest.

During a search of Oberdick’s vehicle, Deputy Cowles located a glass bowl commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, as well as clear plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine. During a search of Oberdick’s person, Deputy Cowles located approximately 46 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed in Oberdick’s jacket pocket.

Based on the totality of the investigation, Cowles arrested Oberdick for H&S 11378 and H&S 11379 (possession of a controlled substance for sales and transportation of a controlled substance), Johnson for her warrant and H&S 11377 (possession of a controlled substance) and Rose for H&S 11377. All subjects were transported to the Central Detention Center, where they were booked for their charges.
