Caltrans will be performing what they call a SWARM operation on State Route 18 from Monday, April 28 to Thursday, May 1.
From 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on those days, the Narrows portion of SR-18 will be closed to traffic.
The SWARM operation will consist of preventative maintenance such as drainage cleaning, delineation, rock/debris slide removal, vegetation control and guardrail replacement.
Motorists traveling during closure hours are advised to circumvent the Narrows by driving through Crestline and taking SR-138 to SR-18. SR-330 will also be open and available for travel.
