The artisan tour in Green Valley Lake this weekend will be extra special as it is dedicated to the memory of Ann Howe, who passed away earlier this year.
In a tribute to her, the artisans described her as having a “quick wit, cheeky sense of humor and steady confidence.”
Howe was a master of many mediums: quilting, pottery, stained glass, painting and silversmithing. Her love of art inspired her to create the Green Valley Lake artisan tour with Jeanine Durry in 1991.
“Her creativity, generosity and dedication to this community will always be remembered,” the artisans wrote. “Her legacy lives on in every artist who participates in the tour, every neighbor who stops to chat and every handmade piece that finds its way into a loving home.”
The Labor Day weekend tour will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maps and a list of the studios on the tour are available in downtown Green Valley Lake and also on the Artisans of Green Valley Lake Facebook page.
Guests can expect to find hand-painted rocks, jewelry, cards featuring original watercolor artwork, ornaments, paintings, gourmet dog treats, candles, fresh baked bread, photographs and more.
