The Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church (LACPC) has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Presbytery of Riverside to help modernize the fire alarm and security system for the church campus.

“We are extremely grateful for this support from our regional Presbytery and their recognition of our church as a vital asset for the mountain community,” The Rev. Dr. Bill Stanley, pastor of LACPC, said, adding, “Numerous community groups use our church buildings and this grant will help us provide a more secure environment.”

The Red Cross has designated LACPC an emergency mobilization site, and various emergency services organizations have used the church site during local disasters. Numerous groups in the mountain community use Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church for their activities, among them Rotary; Scouting; the Special Olympics; the Mountain Homeless Coalition; Rebuilding Together; the Rim Theater Group; Mountain Hands; Rim of the World Recreation and Park District, for youth groups learning early gymnastic skills; Operation Provider, a food pantry for the mountain community; the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce; Rim of the World Band; Mountain Strings; and Hearts and Lives.

In addition, LACPC’s long-standing annual Country Faire, on Labor Day weekend, provides a place for the community to gather for fun and economical shopping.

“Our church mission includes playing a leadership role in our community, and providing help wherever it’s appropriate. We can make a difference, especially through our relationships with so many wonderful local organizations,” Pastor Stanley said. “Our facility is large, with numerous gathering spaces appropriate for large groups. We see our campus as an asset for furthering the health and well-being of our community.”
