Deputies rescue woman who had been kidnapped

Jul 1, 2026 | Front Page, Local

On Saturday, June 13, at about 11:23 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, responded to the 23000 block of Manzanita Drive, in the community of Crestline, regarding a domestic disturbance. Reporting parties heard subjects arguing and a male was heard making criminal threats.

During the investigation, Julin Bracamontes, 21 of Crestline, was identified as the suspect.  He had been seen by witnesses forcing the victim into his vehicle and leaving the area before deputies arrived. Witnesses provided deputies with Bracamontes’s vehicle description and a description of the victim.

Deputies conducted a search of the surrounding area and located a matching vehicle traveling down Highway18, approaching 40th Street in San Bernardino.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop, rescued the victim and arrested Bracamontes. Through investigation, deputies learned the victim had been physically assaulted and was injured.  Bracamontes took the victim’s cell phone, which prevented her from calling law enforcement, and prevented her from leaving numerous locations during their encounter.

Bracamontes was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 207 – Kidnapping and PC 236 – False Imprisonment.

Anyone with information about the investigation (Case No. 05200661) is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Peaks Station, at (909) 336-0600. Callers wishing to remain anonymous should call or text REPORT to We-Tip at (844) 909-3006. Online reporting is also available at https://mobile.catapultems.com/sbcsd/Sites.
