On Sept. 24, the Lake Arrowhead Country Club will open up its beautiful private course to the public for a day of golf for the premier fundraising event, the Mile High Charity Classic, benefiting the Ted Roy Charity Foundation.
The first Mile High Charity Classic was held in 1965 to benefit the Mountains Community Hospital. Then, in 1993, the Lake Arrowhead Country Club and the Roy family formed the Ted Roy Charity Foundation. Since then, the Foundation has raised over $1,397,000 for mountain charities. Of this amount, more than $436,000 has been raised to help purchase much needed medical equipment for Mountains Community Hospital, more than $366,000 for scholarships for graduates of Rim of the World Unified School District and $185,000 for the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club.
Tournament proceeds have also benefited many other mountain charities including Arrowhead Arts Association, Meals on Wheels, Operation Provider, Rebuilding Together, Rim of the World Special Athletes, Rim High School sports and so many more charitable and support organizations on the mountain.
Compete on this stunning private course while connecting with great people and enjoying a savory lunch and drinks. Players will unwind afterwards with a delicious dinner and refreshing drinks, lively dancing and a silent and live auction. Businesses can become a sponsor for the event with a variety of sponsorship packages available from which to choose.
Community participation helps provide vital resources and support to our mountain neighbors, strengthening the community one swing, one serve and one step at a time.
