Realtors from Windermere Real Estate in Lake Arrowhead, met with Rim Family Services, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus, to present a donation check to the nonprofit. The money will go a long way to help Rim Family Services with their annual gift distribution to under-privileged children in the mountain communities.
Agents with Windermere Real Estate have committed a portion from each of their commission checks to support Rim Family Services, due to their important mission of providing the highest quality mental health and substance abuse counseling services and family strengthening programs for the mountain residents.
“Every year,” said Mrs. Claus, “we look forward to delivering toys to these children. Sometimes it is heartbreaking to see families that cannot afford heat, and they are all living in their homes with heavy jackets to stay warm. We can at least offer the children some joy for the season.”
Joscelyn Field, executive director for Rim Family Services added, “Thank you so much for the donation. You have no idea how much of an impact this will have. We really appreciate it.”
Jim Newcomb, associate broker at Windermere, said their office had been looking for a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) agency that has an impact on the entire mountain community. Jill Dayan, Realtor at Windermere, has been a board member for Rim Family Services and suggested talking with them.
“We met with them a couple months ago, to see how we could help,” said Newcomb, “and through the Windermere Foundation, we were able to help out.”
Windermere Real Estate has been operating for 50 years, but only expanded to the mountain last July, bringing in local, seasoned agents to assist buyers and sellers in the mountain communities.
