Group celebrating New Year's Eve with party hats

By Julianne Homokay

Special to the Alpine Mountaineer

The mountain came alive on New Year’s Eve!

Revelers toasted, danced, watched the ball drop in multiple time zones and made new friends. No matter what atmosphere people preferred for the biggest party of the year, it was on offer on Dec. 31.

If you stayed home in front of a cozy fire with loved ones, here’s what you might have to look forward to in 2025:

Black Dog Social Club, Green Valley Lake

Managers Erin and Bergen provided a laid-back, congenial atmosphere with great music and toasts on the hour in each American time zone.

Tudor House, Arrowhead Villas

Resident mountain rock diva Rachel Murray put together the ultimate upscale New Year’s Eve bash with champagne, hors d’oeuvres and dancing to her band Rachel In The Weeds, featuring several guest vocalists.

Tiki Republik, Lake Arrowhead Village

Guests found a club atmosphere as cool as anything down in L.A. with professional DJs, drink specials and dancing.

Cadillac Cowboy, Lake Arrowhead Village

The mountain’s self-professed honky tonk brought a little bit of Nashville to New Year’s Eve, with line dancing to band J.B. and the Circle Riders.

Rim of the World Sports Bar, Crestline

Rim Sports Bar was the place to find great blues with band Sawpit Canyon and a friendly, neighborhood vibe.

Rachel In The Weeds gets the guests on their feet.

Blues band Sawpit Canyon plays to a standing-room-only crowd.

Stephen resolves to “worry less, be more present” in the New Year.

Line dancing at the Cadillac Cowboy.

Manager Darrel gets serious about his resolution to “learn Spanish fluently.”

This couple feels optimistic about 2025.

Guest vocalist Dana Merola wows the crowd with her soaring vocals.

Guest vocalist Diandra Griego vows to “keep doing the things that make me happy” in 2025.
