The newly elected members of the Crestline Chamber of Commerce board of directors will be introduced to the community at their first public board meeting of the new year on the third Tuesday of January. Jan. 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the Crestline Chamber of Commerce office at 24385 Lake Drive on the north side of Lake Gregory.

At the meeting they will also announce the new schedule of activities and events that have been scheduled for the community for 2025.

The first event is the third annual “Mardi Gras on the Mountain” Corks & Hops which will be held at the San Moritz Lodge on March 1. This wine and beer tasting festival will be inside the Lodge from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at a discount price.

People come dressed in fanciful costumes and enjoy themselves all evening long, socializing and listening to great live music. There will be food trucks. This will be the first Corks & Hops event of the new year with the rest of the season beginning on the first Saturday of June and continuing monthly through October. The tickets are already on sale at www.corksnhops.com. The last two years Mardi Gras on the Mountain has sold out before the night of the event so order your tickets today.

Jamboree Days with fireworks is being planned for the first weekend in July. Organizational planning meetings are just beginning, said Dirk Rinker, who is again coordinating the biggest event of the year in Crestline. They are planning both the fireworks show over the lake, a parade on Saturday morning and a day-long festival with live music, and food booths and so much more. Call the chamber office at (909) 338-2706 to volunteer if you would like to help or be involved in some way in Jamboree Days planning; meetings are scheduled for Tuesday evenings at this time.

The Top Town Fall Festival is scheduled for November. They also have plans for a spring edition of the Crestline Magazine and much more, to help the businesses in town thrive. The chamber always encourages residents and visitors to “Shop on Top.”

The chamber is currently focused on opening their new visitors center, being opened this spring within their recently remodeled chamber office. This visitors center will be open six days a week after its grand opening in early February.  After that, they will be adding new items to the visitors center.

Now that the chamber has hired a new office manager – whom they will introduce at the Jan. 21 meeting – the visitors center will be now be open at least six days a week. They are now seeking additional volunteers who would like to operate the visitors center the seventh day of the week, beginning in the spring.

The chamber is adding a new aluminum handicapped accessible ramp to the chamber office building. Their old ramp and deck collapsed during Snowmageddon. The chamber will also be adding new wider glass doors to the office to make the building more accessible for all.

The purpose of the chamber of commerce is to encourage the growth of business and tourism in the community and the Crestline Chamber does that by attracting visitors to the area through the events they sponsor.
