Five cabins at Thousand Lines Christian Camp had been destroyed in 2023 during the blizzard known as Snomageddon. On June 19, the camp hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the rebuilding of those cabins.

The event brought together staff, alumni, ministry partners and local community members to recognize the long rebuilding process and celebrate the return of these cabins to ministry use. The evening also included special recognition of Pat and Stacey Pattison of Aspen Construction, whose leadership, craftsmanship and care played a key role in bringing the cabins back to completion.

For Thousand Pines, the rebuilt cabins represent more than new construction. They restore important housing space for campers, students, churches, families and guests who come to the camp throughout the year. The ceremony served as a moment of gratitude, reflection and dedication as the cabins were officially returned to service.

“What was destroyed in the storm has now been restored for ministry,” said Mike Encoe, Thousand Pines’ camp director. “We are deeply grateful for everyone who helped make this rebuild possible and excited for the many campers and guests who will be impacted through these cabins for years to come.”

Thousand Pines Christian Camp has served generations of campers, churches, schools and families in the San Bernardino Mountains. The completion of these cabins marks an important step forward following the damage caused by the 2023 winter storms.
