Local Flavor Meets Global Blends: Kuffel Canyon Coffee Opens in the Mountains

The wait is over, Kuffel Canyon Coffee has opened

Special to the Alpine Mountaineer

After more than two years of anticipation, Kuffel Canyon Coffee has officially opened its doors, bringing artisan coffee, specialty teas, and a welcoming community atmosphere to the mountain region. Located within the Kuffel Corner complex, the new café offers an inviting destination where locally crafted products meet flavors from around the world.

One of the café’s most unique features is its tea program, led by a Cedar Pines Park resident affectionately known as a “tea scientist.” Working exclusively with premium teas from Ruya Teas, the menu includes ceremonial-grade matcha and handcrafted blends infused with ingredients such as chaga, chai, and turmeric. A customer favorite is the butterfly pea flower tea, which naturally transforms from a brilliant blue to a vibrant purple when fresh lemon is added, creating a colorful experience that is as entertaining as it is refreshing. Guests can also choose from a variety of black, green, and herbal teas, available by the cup, by the jar, or packaged to enjoy at home.

Those interested in learning more about tea can attend a special educational workshop on July 22, 2026. During the event, guests will explore the traditional wellness properties of different teas while learning how to create personalized tea blends tailored to their own tastes and preferences.

Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the café’s beans, roasted in the Inland Empire and sourced from renowned coffee-growing regions including Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico, and Indonesia. The food menu is equally diverse, offering vegan, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free selections alongside traditional favorites. Signature banana muffins, fresh sandwiches, rice bowls, including a flavorful chicken curry and soon-to-be-added breakfast burritos provide something for every appetite.

Three Kuffel Canyon coffee cups in different sizes

Find your perfect pour with Kuffel Canyon Coffee’s three convenient sizes. From a quick boost to all-day fuel, there’s a cup for every moment.

Adding to its appeal, Kuffel Canyon Coffee bakes authentic East Coast-style bagels fresh on-site each day. Varieties include jalapeño cheese, everything, pretzel, and plain, with the option to enjoy them topped with classic lox and capers.

More than just a coffee shop, Kuffel Canyon Coffee serves as a community gathering place. Visitors can relax in the climate-controlled indoor seating area or unwind on the spacious outdoor deck overlooking a beautifully landscaped garden filled with handcrafted metal sculptures created by a local artist. The garden will also be featured during the Community Garden Tour on Saturday, June 27.

The café is part of the growing Kuffel Corner marketplace, which is also home to an art gallery, two antique stores—including Antiques, Tools and More, The Christmas Therapy Room, a year-round Christmas boutique, The Tree House featuring home décor and gifts, and L. Dubbs Engraving, which specializes in custom engraving and personalized gifts.

Whether stopping by for a handcrafted latte, exploring specialty teas, or spending an afternoon discovering the unique businesses at Kuffel Corner, visitors will find that Kuffel Canyon Coffee offers much more than great food and beverages. It has quickly become a welcoming destination where community, creativity, and quality come together—one cup at a time.
