Crestline Chamber seeking office manager

By RHEA-FRANCES TETLEY

Staff Writer

The Crestline Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full-time manager for their office and visitors center on the north shore of Lake Gregory.

The job will be 30 hours a week in the off-season and 40 hours per week during the tourist season. It will require someone who can multitask because there are many aspects to the job. See the detailed job description and apply at www.Indeed.com.

The right person would be the welcoming face at the visitors center, answering questions about the community of Crestline, and would need to be able to perform a wide variety of administrative tasks and maintain the services needed by the membership of the chamber while coordinating the event planning and volunteers.

The chamber’s mission is to build tourism and commerce in the Crestline area; the office manager is the contact person for the many activities supported by the chamber. They will need to keep a calendar of the various committees and outside organizations using the chamber office and have the ability to open the building when needed. They are also in charge of the online calendar of events for the community, will respond daily to email and phone correspondence, and generally oversee the chamber’s activities and ticket sales.

This year, beginning this weekend, Feb. 18, is the Mardi Gras Corks & Hops evening at the San Moritz Lodge. There are many committee meetings for the Duck Derby, which will be on April 8, and for Jamboree Days, which will be held on July 1-3 this year. There are many volunteers for each event that need to be tabulated. The outdoor Corks & Hops will be on the first Saturday of each month, beginning in May and continuing monthly through October.

The Fall Festival and other events are also on the chamber’s calendar for this year, as well as the publication and distribution of the summer issue of Crestline Magazine in late spring. The office manager helps to coordinate and keeps in communication with the committees that make these events happen and must be self-motivated since they often work alone, under the direction of the board of directors and the president of the Crestline Chamber of Commerce.

Experience desired is one-year experience as an office manager with the knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks and spreadsheets and the ability to coordinate social media for the chamber.
