The first First Friday of the season will take place at The Lake House this Friday, July 5. For this event only the event will be from 3 to 6 p.m. due to the fireworks that evening over Lake Arrowhead.

Owners Robin and John Lyles invite residents and guests to come and enjoy some wine, hors d’oeuvres, friendship and fine art. July’s First Friday will feature the work of Linda Brown and Lisa Mozzini-McDill.

A Southern California native, Brown grew up with equal passions for nature and art. Essentially self-taught in the basics of oil painting, she has been painting for most of her life.

Mozzini-McDill graduates from San Diego State University with a degree in graphic communications. She worked as a graphic artist, illustrator and portrait artist for more than 10 years. Today she works primarily in oil on plein air landscapes and commissioned portraits.

As has become the custom, 10 percent of the event sales will benefit a local charity. July’s beneficiary is the Blue Jay Jazz Foundation, which will hold its annual jazz festival on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.

The Lake House is located at 28966 Hook Creek Road in Cedar Glen. For more information, call (909) 337-7676 or visit www.LakeHouseCollection.com.
