Soroptimist International of Rim of the World has just issued its 2024-25 dining and shopping discount cards. This valuable discount card could save the purchaser hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars over the next year as it is valid until the end of June 2025 and is now being sold for only $20 each.
This Soroptimist discount card is well known in the mountain communities as it has been issued every year for over a decade. The restaurants and stores happily accept the card as they realize the discounts they offer are actually bringing new business to their stores and restaurants, plus they help fund the many excellent programs the Soroptimists offer and support.
Over the years, this discount card has grown in popularity and size and it offers discounts to stores in every mountain community, including restaurants, services and retail stores from Crestline to Running Springs, at 49 separate business locations.
“It has been expanded in size too,” said President Virgie Witte, “from a three-fold to a four-fold and it has so many more excellent offers this year.”
The biggest number of businesses that are represented are mountain restaurants with 22 of them included on the card. Each is offering discounts of 10 percent up to 20 percent on meals and free desserts and seven BOGOs.
Many mountain businesses and services ask to be on the card each year, as they realize the value this card offers. Some of the locations that offer discounts include Dave’s Viking Auto, which will save you the cost of the card with just one oil change. Gift stores such as Encompass Gifts and Antiques, Marvelous Mountain Memories, Cedar Glen Trading post, Four Seasons Garden Center and Alpine Jewelers are offering 10 percent off purchases. Service locations such as Sweep’s Luck Chimney Service, Luna’s Pet Spaw, Cardinale Salon and Christine’s in the Glen are offering discounts off their service price and Ballroom Burn is offering two free group lessons.
This card is a real money saver for those who buy and use them. Soroptimist International of Rim of the World is currently selling these community discount cards through their members and through their website, https://www.sirow.org.
The fundraising makes it possible for this nonprofit club to give out scholarships, pay for mammograms through their mammogrant program, continue the Every Girl Counts after-school program at Mary Putnam Henck Intermediate School and honor women in the community who stand out and assist others, desire to improve their lives and education through their Ruby, Live Your Dream and Violet Richardson awards.
