Perfect weather greeted the 100 residents who attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening of TEN Marketplace, an eclectic home accessories and gift store located just south of Lake Arrowhead Village on Highway 173, on Friday, Aug. 2.
The Elevated Nest – a home design studio – shares space in the same building. Both businesses are owned by Victoria Rogers.
“We intend to offer our clients superb design, unparalleled service and a sensational home,” said Rogers.

Victoria Rogers and Assemblyman Tom Lackey were all smiles as the ribbon was cut.
Assemblyman Tom Lackey attend in person for the ribbon cutting; Corrine Mora from Congressman Jay Obernolte’s office and Lewis Murray, representing Supervisor Dawn Rowe, also attended. They all presented certificates to Rogers, congratulating her on her store’s grand opening.
The building is a remodeled historic building from the Wicklund family. Wicklund descendants were on hand for the grand opening festivities. “Having the Wicklunds trust me to remodel their historic family building is quite heartwarming,” said Rogers.
Assemblyman Lackey commented on how refreshing it was to come up the mountain for the event. “I love to be invited up here anytime because it is so pretty up here,” he said, “but for a grand opening, in this business climate, is not an everyday experience. For a person to be taking the risk to open a business is to be supported and complimented. I am glad to be a Victoria supporter. Congratulations to all who live in this great community. I am from Boron, a rural desert community, so I understand the rural spirit and the struggle of operating a successful business in a small community. I wish Victoria great success; I am proud of her.”
Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robin Bull announced that three of the five homes on the upcoming Lake Arrowhead Home Tour were decorated and designed by Rogers. “Thank you, Victoria for your support. It is awesome and so many will be able to see the results of your design work during the tour this coming September.” The three houses she designed include the 6,000+ square foot Lake House, the Cedar Ridge Symphony Home and the Kaleidoscope home on Yellowstone. Each home is unique and a reflection of each homeowner.
“This store and design studio is the dream I’ve had for a decade,” Rogers said. “I want to thank my partners for their trust in allowing me to redo their homes. I never expected this marvelous support, and I am amazed by it.”
Rogers has lived on the mountain for four years with her daughter. She grew up in Connecticut and moved here by way of Coronado. She loves home remodeling, creating artistic homes and furnishing homes with art and local decoration. “Having a store is a dream come true for me,” she added.

The festivities were complemented by the Little Bear Valley Blues band, performing all afternoon, with familiar music that was just the correct volume for talking and encouraging networking between the numerous business owners and members of the chamber of commerce in attendance.
“This evening has a really cool vibe,” said attendee Sheila Arnett, “with awesome music and the store contains an eclectic selection of items, from inexpensive and up, but with a home town feeling.”
“This new store is a nice place for locals and tourists alike to feel creative and execute their search to make their home a relaxing place. We’re here for everyone, especially those in search of customized and colorful items,” added assistant designer, Cozette Medeiros.
