The Crestline Chamber of Commerce held a well-attended mixer for its members at the Lake Arrowhead Brewing Company, located on the shore of Lake Arrowhead, next to ALA’s Burnt Mill Beach Club, on Thursday Feb. 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
During the mixer, the various business owners and managers had an opportunity, in a casual setting, to share their business ideas and plans with one another and to make new plans of ways to network in the future. During these mixers, it is apparent that getting community business members together is a great way to discover ways to make all of their businesses grow, which is good for everyone.
There were four giant pizzas from Arrowhead Pizza Deli, as well as salad and, of course, everyone attending got a discount on beer. Inside the brewery, it was warm and cozy and about 50 attendees got to know each other better. While working hard in their stores and businesses, they don’t always get an opportunity to talk and mix it up with other business owners, which is the purpose of the mixers.

The Lake Arrowhead Brewery has greatly expanded its facility in the past year. They added outdoor patio cabanas, so people could get out of the chilly weather and sit comfortably on couches and soft chairs in brand new, heated, metal cabanas where folks can sip their beers and watch cornhole competitions or play table games. Inside, the owners have added several shiny, new steel brewing chambers for the craft beers, ales and IPA s that they brew on site. Their beer selection has expanded, as well.
Every business was asked to drop their business cards into a huge beer stein in preparation for a drawing, later in the evening, in which two lucky winners each won two tickets to this Saturday’s Mardi Gras on the Mountain. The Mardi Gras event, which will be Crestline’s first Corks & Hops event of the year, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 1, inside the San Moritz Lodge. The Lake Arrowhead Brewing Company has been supplying various brews for the Crestline Corks & Hops for several years.
Alex Xela, the announcer for the evening, was taking photos and encouraged everyone to “mix about” with each other and make new friends with as many others in attendance as possible.
Midway through the event, Xela stood up on a bench to announce the winners of the Mardi Gras on the Mountain tickets. They were Cathy Fitzpatrick, a retirement mortgage specialist, and Chris Overend from eLAvate High Gear. Both were excited to win.
As the evening mixer wound down, many were playing bar games and commenting they’d had a fine evening, and that the pizza was great, as were the drinks and excellent company. Many declared the evening a total success and fun The Crestline Chamber of Commerce hosts four mixers per year and is still seeking a location for one of their future mixers this fall. It can be hosted by any chamber member and is an excellent way to advertise your business to other chamber members and the community.
