Are you in the market for a birthday gift for a friend? Have an upcoming wedding for which you need just the right thing? Want to get a head start on your holiday shopping?
Look no further than the parking lot next to Grocery Outlet in Blue Jay on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Chuck Petrovich – who fashions toys, puzzles, trivets and other items out of wood – has been organizing this craft fair, which was originally held on Sundays. Their visibility from North Bay Road has motorists turning into the parking lot to get a closer look.
He displays a sign on his table that says, “These are toys and art pieces your children can give to their grandchildren. Not made in China. No plastic. Handmade with love in Lake Arrowhead.”
On a recent Saturday, Petrovich was joined by a woman selling candles to raise money for a bear sanctuary, young girls selling jewelry they had created, Munir with his incredible fabric art, Olga Serebriakova with her “art toys” – handmade figures with the heads of dogs and cats – and Bea Butryn with her handmade cards.
